For kids, families and all story lovers
The story
Every night Raja Vikram goes to a dark cremation ground to bring down Betal, a ghost who hangs upside down from an old tree. On the way back Betal tells a story and asks a tricky question at the end. Betal’s rule is simple: if the king speaks even one word, Betal flies back to his tree. But Vikram is wise and just, and he cannot stay silent when he knows the answer. So the king goes back again, and again…
Will Vikram ever win? And what is the secret plan of the mysterious jogi who sent him there?
These stories are full of mystery, adventure, love, sacrifice and clever thinking. Read them yourself, or read them aloud to your children and ask them Betal’s question before you read Vikram’s answer.
